Donatella Palomba works at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’, where she has been Professor of Education (Pedagogia Generale) since 1985. She is an Honorary member of the Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE) of which she has been President from 2000 to 2004, and is a member of the Executive Committee of SICESE (Italian section of CESE). She is the editor of the Collection ‘Comparative Education Studies/Studi comparativi in educazione’ published by Aracne Editrice, Rome, and is on the Editorial Board of several academic journals. Her main research interests are the history and policy of education in comparative perspective, with special reference to the 19th and 20th Century, and the role of language in conceptualizing comparative studies and policies of education.
