Dr Yulia Nesterova is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Glasgow. Her research explores the role of education in peacebuilding, reconciliation, social justice, and democratic transformation, with particular interests in historical and relational injustices, youth-led peacebuilding, intergroup relations, and community engagement for sustainable peace. She serves as Co-Chair of the Peace Education Special Interest Group of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), Co-Director of the University of Glasgow’s Memory Lab, Associate Editor of Diaspora, Indigenous, and Minority Education, and a member of the International Working Group on Youth, Peace, and Security at the Folke Bernadotte Academy, Sweden. Her work has been published in leading journals including Comparative Education, British Educational Research Journal, Compare, Journal of Peace Education, and Prospects. Prior to joining Glasgow, she worked with UNESCO on projects related to peace and preventing violent extremism. Her research and collaborations span Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. Yulia holds a PhD from the University of Hong Kong
